Meesho Profit Calculator
Find out what you actually keep on a Meesho order once shipping, GST and returns are taken out. Change any number and the result updates instantly, so you can price a product before you list it instead of finding out from your payment statement a fortnight later.
- Runs in your browser
- No sign up
- Nothing uploaded
- Fee defaults taken from Meesho’s own pricing page
In short: your Meesho profit is the selling price, minus the shipping Meesho deducts and the 18% GST on it, minus your product cost, packaging and any ad spend, minus the GST you owe on the sale after input tax credit. Meesho publishes 0% commission and no collection fee, so on most orders shipping and returns decide your margin, not marketplace commission.

Pricing guidance
Below this price the order loses money.
Averaged across every order you ship. A returned order costs you ₹10.00.
An estimate, not a settlement statement. Your real payout depends on your supplier agreement, parcel weight and delivery zone. Confirm the figures in your Meesho supplier panel.
What Meesho actually charges a seller
Most profit calculators for Meesho ask you to enter a commission percentage and a cash on delivery fee. According to Meesho’s own supplier pricing page, neither of those is charged. So rather than invent a fee table, this tool starts every published zero-rate charge at zero and leaves it editable, and asks you for the one number that genuinely varies.
| Charge | Meesho’s published position | In this calculator |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | 0% commission across all categories. | Defaults to 0% and stays editable. |
| Registration and listing | Free to create an account and list products. | Not charged. |
| Payment or COD collection | No collection fee on prepaid or cash on delivery orders. | Not charged. |
| Cancellation penalty | No penalty on supplier or automatic cancellations. | Not charged. |
| Return shipping on RTO | No return shipping fee charged for RTO orders. | Starts at zero. Only your packaging and ad spend are counted as the loss on a returned order. |
| Forward shipping | Set per order by weight and delivery distance, with 18% GST added. Rates appear in the supplier panel. | You enter it, because no public rate card exists. GST on it is added automatically. |
| TCS and TDS | Marketplaces deduct tax at source under Indian tax law and report it against your PAN and GSTIN. Rates are set by government notification, not by Meesho. | Not modelled, because these are recoverable when you file rather than a cost of the sale. Use the other cost field if you want to see them. |
Two things follow from this. First, if a calculator quotes you a fixed Meesho shipping rate, treat the number with suspicion. Second, on Meesho your margin is decided almost entirely by your buying price, your parcel weight and your return rate, not by marketplace commission.
Why weight matters more than you expect
Because shipping is the single largest deduction on most Meesho orders, a product that costs the same but weighs less can be materially more profitable. Run the same cost price through the calculator with two different shipping figures and the gap is usually larger than any pricing tweak you were considering.
Where input tax credit changes the answer
If you hold a regular GSTIN, the GST inside your purchase invoice and inside Meesho’s shipping deduction is not lost. You set it against the GST you collect on the sale and pay only the difference. What surprises most sellers is the direction of the effect: because a Meesho listing price already includes GST, a registered seller hands part of that price to the government, so the same listing can net slightly less than it would for an unregistered seller. Registration is still what lets you buy from GST suppliers, reclaim credit and sell taxable goods legally. Toggle the GSTIN switch to see the gap on your own numbers, and confirm your position on the GST portal.

What every field means
The form asks for the numbers that actually change your margin, and nothing it cannot honestly work out for you. There is no category dropdown here because Meesho publishes a single 0% commission rather than category rates, and no weight or zone dropdown because the shipping rate card lives in your supplier panel rather than on a public page. Weight and delivery distance still matter enormously, they simply arrive through the shipping figure you enter.
- Selling price on Meesho
- The price you plan to list at. Treated as GST inclusive, because that is what a Meesho customer pays.
- Your cost price
- What the product costs you to buy or make, including the GST on your supplier invoice.
- GST slab on your product
- The rate you charge the customer. Picking the wrong slab is the most common reason a margin estimate is wrong.
- GST on your purchase
- The rate on your supplier invoice. It decides how much input tax credit you can claim back.
- I have a regular GSTIN
- Turn it off if you sell on an enrolment ID. Unregistered sellers cannot claim input tax credit.
- Shipping charged by Meesho
- Meesho sets this per order from parcel weight and delivery distance. Copy the figure from a comparable order in your supplier panel.
- Commission rate
- Meesho publishes 0% commission. Left editable so you can model a rate if your own statement ever shows one.
- Packaging cost
- Meesho does not supply packing material, so this is a genuine cost on every order.
- Ad spend per order
- Total ad spend divided by the orders it produced.
- Other cost per order
- Labour, storage, or anything else you want counted.
- Return and RTO rate
- The share of orders that come back. This is usually the single biggest drag on a Meesho margin.
- Extra charge per return
- Starts at zero because Meesho states it charges no RTO return shipping fee. Raise it if your stock cannot be resold.
- Target profit margin
- The margin you want. The tool works backwards to the selling price that delivers it.
Worked examples with real numbers
Three products run through the calculator above. Every figure below is produced by the same code the tool uses, so what you see here is exactly what you would get by typing these values in yourself. All three assume a GST registered seller, 0% commission and no extra return charge.
Cotton kurti
Light parcel, 5% GST slab, average returns
| Selling price | ₹499.00 |
|---|---|
| Product cost | ₹200.00 |
| Shipping plus 18% GST | ₹65.00 + ₹11.70 |
| Settlement from Meesho | ₹422.30 |
| Packaging | ₹10.00 |
| GST payable after credit | ₹2.54 |
| Net profit | ₹209.76 (42.04% margin) |
| Break-even price | ₹278.75 |
| Profit after 15.00% returns | ₹176.80 |
Mobile back cover
Low price, 18% GST slab, shipping dominates
| Selling price | ₹249.00 |
|---|---|
| Product cost | ₹80.00 |
| Shipping plus 18% GST | ₹45.00 + ₹8.10 |
| Settlement from Meesho | ₹195.90 |
| Packaging | ₹5.00 |
| GST payable after credit | ₹17.68 |
| Net profit | ₹93.22 (37.44% margin) |
| Break-even price | ₹139.00 |
| Profit after 10.00% returns | ₹83.40 |
Double bedsheet
Heavy parcel, higher ticket, high return rate
| Selling price | ₹899.00 |
|---|---|
| Product cost | ₹450.00 |
| Shipping plus 18% GST | ₹95.00 + ₹17.10 |
| Settlement from Meesho | ₹786.90 |
| Packaging | ₹15.00 |
| GST payable after credit | ₹4.28 |
| Net profit | ₹317.62 (35.33% margin) |
| Break-even price | ₹565.50 |
| Profit after 20.00% returns | ₹251.10 |
Notice the pattern. The mobile cover looks like the weakest product by profit in rupees, yet it returns the most on the money invested. The bedsheet earns the most per order but gives up the largest share of it to returns. Neither fact is visible from the selling price alone.
Meesho, Flipkart and Amazon: how the fee models differ
The three marketplaces charge in structurally different ways, which is why a price that works on one can lose money on another. Exact percentages change often, so rather than print numbers that quietly go stale, the table compares structure and links each marketplace to its own official fee page for current rates.
| Charge | Meesho | Flipkart | Amazon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commission | Publishes 0% commission across all categories. | Category-wise commission rate. | Category-wise referral fee. |
| Fixed or closing fee | None published. | Fixed fee per order. | Closing fee per order. |
| Shipping | Charged per order by weight and distance, taken out of your settlement. | Charged per order, varies by weight and zone. | Charged per order, varies by weight and zone. |
| GST on marketplace charges | 18% applies and is claimable as credit if you are registered. | Applies. | Applies. |
| Return and RTO shipping | States no return shipping fee is charged for RTO. | Return fees apply by category. | Return fees apply by category. |
| Payment or COD collection | States no collection fee on prepaid or COD. | Applies. | Applies. |

Five pricing mistakes that quietly cost Meesho sellers money
- Pricing as if nothing ever comes backA product that earns well on a delivered order can still lose money across a batch once a fifth of it returns. Put your real return rate in and read the return adjusted figure, not the headline one.
- Forgetting the GST on marketplace chargesSellers usually remember GST on the product and forget the 18% GST riding on the shipping Meesho deducts. If you are registered you claim it back, and if you are not it is a straight cost.
- Using one price for every parcel weightShipping is the largest deduction on most Meesho orders and it moves with weight and distance. A price that works for a 200 gram parcel can be underwater on a one kilogram one.
- Leaving packaging out of the sumTen rupees of polybag and tape looks like nothing until you multiply it by a few hundred orders. Meesho supplies none of it, so it belongs in every calculation.
- Never recalculating after a rate changeMarketplace fee policies and your own buying prices both move. Re-run your best sellers whenever either changes rather than trusting a number you worked out last season.
How to use the Meesho profit calculator
- Enter your cost price and selling pricePut in what the product costs you and the price a customer pays on Meesho. The selling price is treated as GST inclusive, because that is what a Meesho listing shows.
- Add the shipping and packaging you are chargedCopy the shipping deduction from a comparable order in your Meesho supplier panel. Meesho sets it per order by weight and delivery distance, so there is no fixed rate to look up. Add what your packing material costs.
- Set your GST positionChoose the GST slab your product falls under and say whether you hold a regular GSTIN. A registered seller can set the GST inside purchases and shipping against the GST collected on the sale.
- Add returns and any ad spendEnter the share of orders that come back and anything you spend on ads per order. Meesho states it does not charge a return shipping fee on RTO, so the per-return charge starts at zero and stays editable.
- Read your profit, margin and break-even priceThe result updates as you type. It shows your settlement amount, net profit, margin, the price you break even at, and a suggested price for the margin you are aiming for.
Frequently asked questions
How much commission does Meesho charge sellers?
Meesho advertises 0% commission across all categories on its supplier pricing page, so this calculator starts commission at 0%. The field is still editable, because an individual supplier agreement or a future rate change can differ from the published policy. Check your own payment statement before relying on any figure.
Why is shipping something I have to type in?
Meesho charges shipping per order based on the parcel weight and the delivery distance, and that rate card sits inside the supplier panel rather than on a public page. Any calculator that shows a fixed shipping number is guessing. Copy the shipping deduction from a recent comparable order and the result will match your payout closely.
Does Meesho take a payment gateway or COD collection fee?
Meesho states there is no collection fee, and that you keep the full sale price on both prepaid and cash on delivery orders. No payment or COD charge is deducted here for that reason. If your statement shows one, add it to the other costs field.
What do I actually lose when an order is returned?
Meesho states it does not charge a return shipping fee on RTO orders, and the courier tries delivery three times before sending the parcel back. Your stock comes back to you, so the real loss is the packaging you already used, any ad spend on that order, and damage if the item cannot be sold again. The calculator counts exactly those, and the per-return charge starts at zero.
Is the selling price I enter inclusive of GST?
Yes. The price a Meesho customer pays already includes GST, so the calculator works the tax back out of the selling price instead of adding it on top. Entering a price excluding GST will overstate your margin.
What is input tax credit and why does it change my profit?
If you hold a regular GSTIN, the GST inside your purchase invoice and inside the shipping Meesho deducts can be set against the GST you collect on the sale, so you only pay the difference to the government. Switch the GST registered toggle off and that credit disappears, which is why the same order earns less without registration.
What does the break-even price tell me?
It is the lowest price at which the order stops losing money once every cost you entered is covered. Listing below it means each additional sale increases your loss, which is the trap behind aggressive price cutting on marketplaces.
Can I use this if I do not have a GSTIN?
Yes. Turn off the GST registered toggle. Meesho allows sellers without a regular GSTIN to sell using an enrolment ID, and those sellers cannot claim input tax credit, so the GST paid on stock and shipping becomes a real cost.
Why is my Meesho payout different from this result?
Treat this as an estimate, not a settlement statement. Your actual payout depends on your supplier agreement, the weight slab and delivery zone of each order, and any adjustment Meesho applies. Meesho settles payments seven days after delivery, including cash on delivery orders, and the final breakdown appears in the payments section of your supplier panel.
Is the Meesho profit calculator free?
Yes, it is free and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded to a SnapSeller server, there is no sign up, and there is no limit on how many products you check.
